The piano has been my doorway to music. I grew up with Bach, Scriabin, and Wagner, have done some composing in contemporary and neo-classical music, enjoy exploring improvisational styles, and have been getting into looping and Rope Flow Music (an instrument I'm currently building obsessively). Find some things here and there below. If you're curious about older pieces, most of my earlier recordings live on SoundCloud.
Game of Life patterns emerge from the keys as the piece plays. It runs live in your browser and might make your laptop a bit unhappy; you can pause the simulation below. Turn on "hear the cells" to let the grid filter the piano's own sound.
press play: every hammer strike seeds the cells
Performances on the Musical Flow Rope, an instrumented flow rope whose movements are recognised in real time and turned into sound.
